Key to a style of a super-mother

Hello beautiful,

How are you? What have you been up to since your last visit here? If it is your first visit, tell me about yourself.

Today I have some super exciting news to share with you as well as a little surprise for you (so keep on reading ;)).

This week I went to pay a visit to Serena at Stellar after getting a message from her about going online in matter of days. I came to see the newest collection and chat about all the excitement.

You can see some of the amazing style available at Stellar in the following pictures.

On my way to Stellar I was wondering what I am interested in most, for myself as well as for you all. Quickly it became pretty clear that I need to see what they have to offer for us mothers. My style has evolved a lot since becoming a mother and my needs in terms of bag I choose changed dramatically. I know that I am not unique when I say that practicality of the bag is at most priority.

When thinking about it and chatting to Serena during my visit I discovered that there is plenty to choose from. I see how huge my bag had to be when Beno was 0-2 years old. Right now (he is almost 4 years old) I can get away with a little cross-body bag and see how that changes since he can carry a little backpack on his own ;). Having said that, I will soon be back to baby things everywhere plus Beno so I am already exploring new options. Hopefully some of you mamas of many children can help me choose (pretty please:)).

During my visit I was overwhelmed with the choices and very pleased to discover how comfortable the bags are. I was testing how much I can do single-handedly, without taking the bag off the shoulder, many bags passed the test.

All the pictures include bags that in my believe have a potential to being a ‘supermother’s bag of style’.

I also have been realizing how much power a great accessory holds…. and what is the one accessory we all need with us basically at all times? Exactly! Even husband has a question the minute you leave the house for a family trip.. ‘Did you take…. . Do you have… .’right?

So how about we treat ourselves to a bag that speaks our style and always makes us feel fabulous. Remember that you can rock a great bag even when running errands in you ‘tee and jeans’ combo or ‘trainers, leggings and a tunic’ set.

Enjoy browsing through the pictures bellow and here’s the news: on Friday the 18th of May Stellar launches their own website (www.stellar-shop.com) that will ship to all over Europe. If you want to read more about the business itself (who, how and when it was set up) here is my post from January when I visited them for the first time.  http://www.keytome.co.uk/2018/01/13/key-to-finding-a-bag-of-style/

…and as my gift to you I managed to get an exclusive 10% off for you. When you go online simply enter the discount code ‘KeyToMe’. You can also use it in store (mention the code to ladies). Discount is not to be used in conjunction with other offers.

I am so excited for Stellar and for us ladies to have the Italian style at the doorstep. This is the only place in Scotland to have these particular Italian brands available for us.

Also follow Stellar on Instagram (Stellar Aberdeen) and on Facebook and make sure to tag them and me in you purchases, cannot wait to get inspired by your style.

Love you,

Gosia

Key to wearing black

So autumn is here. How are you all feeling about it in terms of your style? I personally love the leyers, boots, thicker textures and all the fun I can have with it. It can be challenging though. The shops will now be filled with earthy colours and as fun as it may seem it is not a complimenting option for all of us. Only some of us can wear it well (me excluding). With that in mind a lot of us will want to stick or turn to black. A lot of ladies turn to it as it tends to make one feel slimmer, smarter and possibly more powerful. However the season tones recommend only winter tones individuals wear the colour black.

With that in mind I put together few tips on how to successfully wear black (because we can’t all give it up).

  • Black looks its absolute best when worn with one or combination of neutral tones (e.g. white, grey, cream, tan, gold, silver, bronze or brown).

  • When wearing black with a colour, be sure to add another neutral tone to the ensemble – it looks less dated that way.

  • It isn’t easy to look good in black when worn from head to toe, but it can be done. Make sure that each item of outfit is of a different texture. The trick is to “add dimension” and avoid ” looking flat”.

  • Black items need to be very black! As soon as they start to lose their colour – the overall flattering effect is lost. To avoid them fading to fast, wash them in very low temperature, away from different colours.

  • Refrain from wearing black all the time. It has the power to “drain” one’s appearance. Remember to alternate with other colours that suit your skin tone.

Above all, make sure you feel comfortable in it and that it represents who you are. Get inspired by others but make it your own.

Here is to a sunny and memorable week.

Love,

Gosia

Key to me – my passion

I am the best stylist I can be today. I will be better tomorrow. I will never be perfect. I am happy to learn for and from my clients. I get inspired for and by them. I put together ideas, outfits and ways to live a live when they love their style so that they can grasp the life they dream of.

Money is not an issue. Never. I can make you shine like a star, regardless of your budget. You will love the colours of your rainbow and let others love theirs.

I have only this life and it blossoms because I could not be more excited to share it with you. Your goals are my goals.

Your style is important. It is the clothes, it is you shoes, your hair, your make up, your accessories and your posture.

Your style then is your walk, your talk, your dance, your relationships, your job and your hobbies, it is your routines, your attitude and your approach to today and to tomorrow….. .

Key to getting inspired as opposed to coping looks

I have never understood the idea of ‘I need this dress’ when seeing someone looking amazing in theirs. I mean I have been in love with looks and still get the feeling but I don’t see the point in getting the very outfit someone else is rocking.

If it is one piece e.g. dress, jumpsuit, coat that I am feeling in love with and I feel that it is something that I could wear too, I wonder whether I already have something similar. If not I may shop for something similar, never really the same thing though.

If it’s an outfit that I feel drawn to, I wonder is the whole look something that could work with my body and skin tone, is it a detail in the outfit or is it the colours that I noticed? Then I let myself get INSPIRED. I go through my clothes and make it MINE. Sometimes it will look very similar to the inspiration, other times it won’t. It is super fun and it makes me realize that there really is always something to wear. You can do it by browsing through magazines or internet. I find Pintrest being the easiest lately. It’s so easy and fun making style boards, or any boards really.

I am sharing with you 4 different looks I put together this afternoon, it took 10 minutes. It really is that simple and helps you plan for shopping, you’ll spend less too 😉

I saw this and knew I have a simple grey t-shirt and this awesome turquoise necklace and here it is.

Here is another simple combo, I saw this and knew straight away that I can have the look with my top and skirt but added different accessories.

That’s when I reached for my shorts that I usually pair with a tank top. Love this idea of having it with a white shirt and a pop of colour heel.

This is when I got reminded to add belt to denim shorts. Also loved the idea of a statement necklace. Win win ;))

So please, next time you see someone wearing something you love, compliment them but stay yourself, if you must, get the same dress but in a different colour. Another thing you’ll avoid too is the game of comparison.

I hope that no matter what you are wearing today, you are loving it.

Love yourself and love your style.

Gosia,  xxx

Key to My Happiness – banning the perfect and embracing the fabulous(ly) happy

I am sharing with you some pics from a date I had with my little gentleman.

It kind of started with a dress I recently bought. I was on a hunt for some old school dresses the other day and there is no better place for that than a second hand shops. I did it again. I found my treasure. This time it was nothing like any other dress I found before. I mean I have had pretty dresses in my life but there is something magical about this one. It makes me feel like a star but most importantly I feel like I can travel in time. Every time I put it on I wonder who, when, where rocked it before. I also wonder that my gran, who I never met, could have worn it……

I guess my point here is, that if you feel like to have a style that you love and to be able to embrace your life, you need a lot of money, think again. I am a great believer in being resourceful and in having fun. I do both and love my style. I am also here for you if you’d like that in your life.

I do not believe in perfection, nobody is perfect (I mean, my son is pretty perfect to me but you know what I mean). I found a great comfort in realizing that and falling in love in my imperfections and embracing them.

I do not have a well defined waist, but this dress fakes it so magically for me that I am barely breathing ;)). I have pretty funny toes and up until couple of months ago I would always feel awkward when wearing sandals and any open toe shoe; in fact I’d apologies to people that needed to watch that (yes, really!). But something inside me has changed and it’s actually my boys that I have to thank for helping me love and allow myself to be the way I am.

I am no longer apologizing for whatever I am not. I am happy and grateful to be alive and for having those fabulous moments, like this one 😉

This dress, that cost me no more than £4 has given me so much joy and excitement and I couldn’t wait to wear it. I love that the first time I rocked it was on a date with my little dude. I mean, just look at him…. my daily dose of inspiration.

Have a fabulous day everyone, pull that £10 out of your pocket and go wild next time you pass by the charity shop, you might surprise yourself too and remember to live your sparkle.

Love,

Gosia

Key To Her Busy Mother’s Style

dsc_6061dsc_6090-2This one is about many of us. We all sometimes put everything on hold to care about family and home. We put ourselves on hold that is. Why? Because we don’t feel that it matters whether we put a make up on, favorite dress, the amazing shoes we worked so hard for before the maternity started and when we still thought we can wear heels on a weekday.

Well the truth is that this is our world now and we love it but the image we seem to portray says otherwise.

Iwona has so many beautiful features but none of them seem to be visible through the uniform she puts on quickly when she runs to school in the morning or goes shopping or does million other things that need to be done every single day.

For our styling session she brought some great pieces of clothing. Most of them still with tags. Hmm…. Obviously she loves looking at them in the wardrobe, maybe it makes her feel good to know they are there but following pictures prove that no garment will ever look better than when matched with a real person. I am so pleased to say that she has a great taste, the colours of these pieces also work for her. She chooses quality over quantity and she has recently put together a capsule wardrobe for herself.

My only objection are those buggy, sad, nasty track pants that do amazing job at covering her up. She’s almost invisible in that ‘outfit’.

Saving the nice clothes for a ‘special occasion’ ends in a disaster. We end up almost never wearing them because we get so used to the safe choices we go for every day that when we need to get out there and get out of the comfort zone we choose the safe option and maybe add a heel to the jeans (if that).

I say wear your great clothes every day. You can never be overdressed. I’m sure we all can recall the time we bumped into a friend or a colleague we haven’t seen in ages when wearing something really great ( e.g. we were all dressed up for a party we were going to and just popped in to the shop for a bottle of red and a birthday card ). Oh, that felt good, right?!!! We also remember the time we barely got out of the pajamas (or didn’t), put a huge winter jacket on, added a beanie, obliviously no make up and all of the sadden everyone we know shops in the same place! Yep, not an image we want to portray is it?

That’s why every day is a good excuse to treat yourself. Your partner will much more likely take you out if he sees you happy and pretty (not that you should do it for him, always match your style with yourself first) but I hope you get my point. Once you get the hair, make up done in the morning, put that awesome necklace or pair of killer shoes on when you leave the house (or whatever it is that does it for you) and all that you have to do is enjoy whatever it is you have to do on a day.

Now, THIS is a strong and independent mama, definitely getting those heads turned at the school run ;))

First one is a perfect option for a beginning of autumn. Love getting a cool mustard wedge on and pairing it with a denim skirt and a baby blue shirt. Lift up the collar, roll up the sleeves and you ready for the madness. Oh, and don’t forget the lip ;). We went for a minimal make up (BB cream, brow pencil, blusher, mascara and lipstick. Hair hand brushed. THAT’S IT !!!

The next one is great for an evening date with a hubby as well as a lunch with girls (for a colder weather add a pair of black tights and the outfit can work from summer to winter. Timeless pieces that can be easily accessorized with a statement earring or a necklace and a great cuff. We added more drama by curling the hair and going for a little smokey eye this time and left the lip nude. I’m a great believer in a ‘one statement at a time’, so if I go for a heavy eye make up I go easy on the lip and other way around. Same in terms of accessories. When I choose a statement necklace I add studs, when statement earrings I leave it at that or add a delicate necklace/pendant (very rarely though).

The whole outfit it very stylish but also comfortable. It shows off the legs but the rest is covered in a tasteful way (one a the time yet again). You can easily eat at dinner 😉 In fact this is a dress can even be worn by pregnant ladies in an early stage of pregnancy and be kept for long time after. Love it

The last one is a jumpsuit Iwona bought a while ago. It looks great on her. I say it must be just as comfortable as the track pants but boy does it look better?! Love how cool and modern she looks in it. She was smiling so much more at this stage that it was inspiring. There are countless things you can do with it but you can choose as little as you wish too. We simply added a layering pendant in a gun metal and left the shoe option open to your imagination 😉 Amazing.

Would love to hear your comments on this post and hopefully a big ‘Like’ for Iwona. I mean just look at that smile ;)))
